Parks, Gardens And Nature

There are many parks and gardens in the greater Chicago area, each unique and holding a special character of its own. These diverse landscapes are as beautiful during the winter months, when covered in snow, as they are during the summer, when bursting with color and life. From formal to informal these magical places come alive during the changing seasons. The natural beauty that surrounds us is a gift that should not be taken for granted.

Photo credit: Marc Lysiak Photography. January and February are known to be two of the bleakest months in Seattle, Washington. It doesn’t help that we have to battle grey skies with temperatures ranging from a high of 55F (13C) to a low of 32F (0C). So what I usually do when it gets too gloomy outside is find some fun things to do indoors. And few things are as fun and adventurous as checking out our city’s parks, nature reserves, and gardens.

This time of the year, there’s no better place to be than in one of Newcastle’s parks or gardens. They are quiet and peaceful getaways on a warm crisp autumn day. But even in winter there is beauty to be found in the way the light plays on tree bark and ice crystal sparkles on water. And in spring, summer and autumn you can find me wandering round with my camera trying to capture that beauty.

Beautiful parks and gardens make for a beautiful day out and so I have chosen to write about Houston’s many parks, gardens, nature reserves and waterfront as a way of showcasing the beauty of our city.
